Are you ready to be wowed?
This morning I did a shitty wonderful job giving Charlie a new ‘do. I was quite sore from yesterday’s hike so didn’t put quite as much work into it as I may have otherwise.
So without further ado, I give you

And I have more news to share.
Today I was pulled over by a police officer for the first time ever. It was the first time I’d ever experienced fear sweat. I was leaking out of every pore! I was guilty as charged (talking on the phone while driving). When the officer asked me why I was on the phone the only thing I could come up with (the truth) was “someone called me and I picked up!” It seems like everything I said ended in an exclamation. He asked me for my license, insurance, and registration. Thankfully I found the first two easily but panicked when I couldn’t find the registration. I nearly threw the booklet with all the car papers at him in my frenzy, asking him what the paper looked like (apparently it’s yellow). He walked back to his cruiser with whatever paperwork I was able to come up with for a few minutes. And when he came back he told me that “honesty is the best policy, don’t talk and drive.” AND HE LET ME OFF! I nearly asked him if he was serious. So lucky me got a break on my first ever real police experience. I’m all antsy just thinking about it. Do you guys have any awesome cop stories to share?
Oh, one more thing. Tigress weighed in at 14 pounds this morning!!!! That’s 2 pounds off from when she first came to me!! Just four more to go!! YAY!!
A Poodle and a Pit Bull 
Even before I scrolled down to see the caption on the first picture, I just looked at it and said “Cutie!” š He is adorable and you did good job!
As for Ziggy, his trainers were actually using choke chains and alpha rolls and the whole bit. I couldn’t stand it! I had tried an all positive trainer before that was highly recommended but didn’t have any luck, but I think this new trainer I found who is also positive is going to be just what we need. I really appreciate the offer for help!

fantastic job. Exactly the cut I was hoping. I have a cop story but it’s more a cop being stupid.. and since I’m typing with 2 less fingers it will have to wait. Glad you got off, I’m always polite and honest with them. Do you by chance live in MD? we can’t use cells in our hands at all while driving. very annoying but guess it makes sense.
I didn’t know he was a min, guess it’s hard to tell in pics, makes sense now though.

Nope, we’re in NYC. It’s actually a relatively new law (within the last few years) and I think they’re going to add in texting to it as well. I have no problem with it, I think it’s a sensible law, though I do break it more often than I should admit to. After this I think I’ll get one of those hands free things.
People often mistake him for a larger dog in pictures, especially when he’s next to Emma. She really looks like she might be an 80lb dog, but really she’s barely 40lb (and all muscle). They’re both quite short =-)
LOVE Charlie’s ‘do!!! He looks fabulous! And I have no cop stories, but my husband has talked his way out of multiple tickets by playing the veteran card; apparently small-town cops in Utah and Idaho have a soft-spot for veterans. We’ve decided it’s one of those intangible benefits! š

Charlie looks adorable! I could not stop giggling over your cop story; even though I have been pulled over several times, I always get as nervous as you described yourself to be š Glad that you only got a warning.

Before hubby and I were married, I had a photo of him in his volunteer police uniform in my ID holder. One night when I got pulled over, the officer saw the picture in there as I tried to get my license out. No ticket for me! š I’ll just say that I’m very fortunate that hubby has a lot of friends in law enforcement, because I tend to have a bit of a lead foot.
Maisy once got me out of a speeding ticket. I was speeding. BAD. Like 15-20 over, no excuse, just speeding. The cop walked up to the passengers side because it was a busy highway, and Maisy was in the front passenger seat, in her seatbelt, and THANK GOD sane that night. So sane, in fact, that she wiggled and giggled all over the place. I could NOT find my insurance, but the cop just looked at Maisy, looked at me (apologizing profusely), looked back at Maisy and said, “You know what? Just slow down.”
I’m so happy the dogs weren’t with me. I’m pretty sure Emma would have gone off on him, and Charlie would have followed. Not sure I’d be so lucky in that scenario =-/. I need to find some friendly police officers in uniform to work the dogs with for any future mishaps on my part!
we think Charlie looks great! that’s our favorite style of haircut. it really shows off his handsome face too.
our human fot a speeding ticket about a year ago. she’s never gotten off. Benson stuck his head out the window and barked at the policeman. we thought we were going to the slammer for that one!
Yup I think my guys would do the same thing. Little buggers.
For one, Charlie is adorable!! If that is a botched cut, well, I don’t think I could handle the cuteness with a perfect job.
Second, scary scene with the cop! Yikes. I get so nervous and intimidated as well, even when I haven’t done anything wrong. But at least you got off, that’s a huge relief.

BTW, don’t spread the news too far about getting off with a warning. Lots of men complain that only young women get warnings from police officer.
I suspect they’re right. I was once pulled over for speeding and the office asked me out on a date after letting me off without a ticket!

I did teach myself. At a minimum $60 a pop for professionally done Poodle do’s I learned early on. Ten years later and I have somewhat of a technique down. I won’t lie and say that I didn’t have really awful experiments. I even once gave him pom poms on his feet! GASP!
Heehee, my guy friend (who was actually the culprit that called me when I was pulled over) was raving about how it was only ‘cus I’m a girl. I’d like to think my squeaky clean record and hand me down car had something to do with it.
Just ran across your blog from another comment and stopped in to say hello. Congrats on your release š My dog (I think) has gotten me out of several tickets but not the speeding ticket. I think she charms them by shoving her head between the headrest and the window when I roll it down. She might have gotten me out of the speeding ticket too but I think that guy was just mad he had to work on Superbowl Sunday.
